Ashton had always been a reserved individual, smart and reliable. But as events progressed through his life, he had learned to endure all of its trials and rough spots, gaining experience as he grew up. In the end, he believes that the only person that mattered was himself, and that was the most important and basic survival rule he learned from the very start. He may seem selfish because of this, but he sees it as it's only human nature to look after oneself.

For how long: It was during Ashton's pre-teen years that he had started to notice a comparable difference between his strength and a normal person's abilities. Since then, he had been using his 'boost' to his advantage, becoming stronger the more he got older.

Background: Ashton felt like he was born to be a loner, not to say that he wanted to be one, it just seemed with the way fate played out for him, being alone seemed to be a reoccuring theme.
Growing up, Ashton was born into a wandering family who were hunters and gathers. This consisted of his mother, father and his grandmother. So at a very young age the boy did not know what it felt like to be settled in or to have a place to call home, but of course he didn't know any better as it was all he was ever used to. A few years after Ashton was born, his parents realized they have been infected by the virus, which they knew was spreading among the towns there were traveling through. But after each year that passed, his parents noticed that their illness had started to become more prominent, ironically sharing the greed effect from the virus. But fearing that they might get their only child infected, they've decided to settle down near an old quarry, mining coal or anything else they could use for trade. As his mother and father had done this from day to day, Ashton's grandmother was the one to watch over and raise the child. And as much as it pained his parents, they had to slowly distance themselves away from their son out of fear that he too might get the virus as well. So it was only natural that Ashton had slowly become more fond and attached to his grandmother over the few years before the incident in the mines.

The boy was only six years old when a horrible rumble was heard near the hills. The earth had been so old, worn and exhausted that the quarry had finally gave out, collapsing from the inside, trapping his parents and a few other scavengers with it. In the end, none of them were saved, with all attempts to try and get through to those trapped, being futile and in vain. And as with most things, it was time to move on, Ashton's grandmother had found this as time to return to their wandering lifestyle. And then it had only been a year after the mine incident that another unfortunate event happened. The boy and his grandmother had found refuge on the outskirts of a forest, but that was their first mistake when they had been attacked in the middle of the night by an exceptionally huge bear. They had intruded on its territory, which is only natural for the beast to do what it did. Ashton's beloved grandmother had been fending off the bear the best she could with an axe, but it was only a matter of time that she was locked into the bear's claws. The frantic boy out of fear and adrenaline, rushed to pry his grandmother out from the bear's jaws, but it only took one swipe from the beast to knock out the boy, leaving three large gashes on the side of his body. By the time Ashton woke up from unconsciousness, the bear was gone, along with the only connection he had in this world. That night, a few hunters in the area heard the roars and the screaming, only being able to save the boy by the time they arrived at the scene. The small band of wanderers offered to take Ashton into their group, but the boy decided to follow along with them until he was healed enough to make it on his own.

Since then it was difficult for the boy growing up without his parental role models around anymore, despite the fact there were other people around he could easily try and make connections with. But Ashton had other plans in mind, using the rest of his years learning to survive and even more. But what he did learn was that there was a virus among the current population, and how it infected people, making him wary to be stuck in dense crowds of people. But in his explorations, he was lucky enough to stumble upon an abandoned military bunker where he found his first few treasures, which was a weathered katana along with a gasmask. Since then he used both of these 'tools' to his advantage in his various odd end jobs just so he could make it by from day to day.

In present time, Ashton can very well be one of the best body guards to hire out there, but he decides to lay low with his reputation and his abilities. He will only take a job if it was necessary, not one being incredibly generous with his services only because he's paranoid about the people out there that would take advantage of him.      

Additional information:
*The only reason why Ashton has an ungodly length of hair, is only because while growing up his grandmother praised him for having such healthy bright hair like his grandfather. The boy had unfortunatly never got to meet him, but this stuck with him, and he decided to keep it growing out, in honor of his late grandparents.

*Because of having such cumbersome hair, as unruly as it can get, he does make it an effort to wash his locks regularly and groom it whenever he gets the time to do so.

*His necklace is a semi-polished garnet given to him by his parents, which they found in the mines one day. So instead of pawning it off, they made it an appropriate birthday gift for Ashton since it was his birthstone.

*Over the years he prefers going topless, despite the fact that it leaves him unprotected towards attacks and injuries, but that gave him more the reason to be able to fend for himself better. On his travels though, if he's going through harsh terrain like a desert, he would bring a cloak for the occassion.
